Okay, new to outboards so bear with me. I am having trouble getting the damn thing in gear. It moves into gear, but the prop won't spin. The shift linkage is fine, the prop spins with the shaft- eliminating the broken shear pin, I opened the lower unit and replaced all gaskets and o-rings and made sure the shift yoke was still attached. I am running out of options, does anyone think that a stripped drive shaft could be the culprit? Should I go at it from the top or bottom.
Any advice to an eager mr fix it?

Did ya' try another prop bdub to eliminate a spun hub? If the engine rpms' go up and you ain't gettin' no where, that usually means a spun hub.

How'd the splines look at the engine end of the drive shaft?

I have never checked the engine end of the drive shaft. That's where I am thinking as well. But what is the best way: to pull the engine with a hoist or drop the lower unit and exhaust? Let me know. Thanks
