My dilema? Well.... Took her out on the river and it idled out good then spooled up and ran down river for about 30 minutes. Turned around and ran up river about 10 minutes. I idled down to try a fishing spot but then it died. I tried to restart but she wasn't having any of that. Finally it restarted but spit and sputtered for a long time. Finally it cleaned itself out , so I put it to the dock and trailered it. My question. what should the needles be set at? 1.5 out?( as a starting point?)
Runs awesome on muffs at 3/4 out but not in the water. Runs like dookie 1.5 out on muffs but good in the water.

Any Motor Head Thoughts?

I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but a factory service manual will have all the answers you're looking for...

I usually use a static setting of 1 1/4 turn out from lightly seated and then fine tune in the water in gear. when running on a hose there is no back pressure in the system and will run a little different.
