Recently put our 1968 BW with a 1979 70 HP Johnson back into use after it had been stored for 10+ yrs. It continues to run great. Two questions...Does anyone know where I can get the plans for the wooden fishing rod rack that was an option for the boat back in the 60's? I believe it was affixed to the side rails along the port side?
Also The motor has a manual tilt lever on the right side of the engine ( looking at it from inside the boat) that one pulls up which disengages via a couple of springs two "hooks" from a pin thus allowing one to tilt the motor up via pulling from the upper rear of the top engine housing. Mine has decided to work intermittently causing me to get in the water with a screwdriver to manually release the "hooks" allowing the engine to tilt. Any suggestions ?
