1968 Evinrude 55hp bad ignition connection?

1968 Evinrude 55hp 3cyl, started and ran fine last summer, now its as if there is a bad connection or something from the ignition. When i turn the key to the on position the ON light doesnt even come on. Where should I start looking? Anything that might help please. The battery is brand new. I am thinking its the ignition switch because of the fact the ON light doesn't come on but I could be wrong.

Not being smart here but check your Battery.
That is generally the spot everyone seems to miss.

If that is not the problem there is a 2 piece plug check that for a bad connection.

Start at the battery, check all connections, make sure the battery cable ends are clean and tight.
