Curious if these little 9-1/2 Hp motors could put out any more power than they do??
I know on newer models you can put larger carbs on them but since its older i was not sure!

Also... What about larger props? i know most are only 8-1/4X8 and i haven't seen any different but if anyone has any insight its greatly appreciated!!

Most people will say buy a bigger motor and i probably will but in the meantime any and all advice is helpful!

That engine had a very restrictive Exhaust and you aren't going to get any more power out of it. The 74 9.9 that replaced it can be hopped up to be the same as the 15 that also came out in 74.
FYI, the 9 1/2 was made 1964 through 1973

these low compression engines are basically fisherman's friend good for trolling, getting back to camp & facilitates casting for the guy at the back :)

I would not venture to change their vocation... btw good for floatplanes with restricted cargo space
