Hi..I am new to this forum and very new to boats and motors..this is my first boat which has a 65 hp 4 cylinder electric start. i do not know a thing about motors so please be patient with me. the motor was running but died, i checked for spark and there is no spark. i was told to take the flywheel off and i will find points under the flywhee. i do not have the proper tool tooremove the fly wheel is there any other way to remove this... thanks

Yes, but DO NOT do it!!!! Use a puller that utilizes the three center bolts in the flywheel. Many people use an automotive harmonic balancer puller, with Grade-8 bolts. Some auto parts stores will rent or loan you one. DO NOT use a puller that grabs the outside diameter of the flywheel.

You also need a torque wrench to put that flywheel back on. Do not ignore this advice, it can cost you a motor.
