1968 3 hp Johnson Folding Outboard

Model number JWF23A- Serial number EL878026. Is this a short shaft or a long shaft? Is the folding lower unit a source of problems? How is it lubricated?

That's a 1968, lowranger.<br /><br />I think all of the folding ones were short shaft. Do you have the "suitcase" container for it? That's a really desirable engine for folks who want to carry it in the trunk of a car to a place where they pop it onto a dinghy or canoe.<br /><br />Can you be more specific about lubrication? Not sure what you mean.
