I have a 1967 Johnson 60 HP Super Sea Horse manual shift that needs motor parts but the lower unit all appears to be pretty good. And I found a 1967 Johnson 80 HP electric shift with reverse problems. My question is this. Can I change lower units without too much trouble, or is there something I am missing? They look like they will change out and I really do not want to start messing with a electric shift.
Thanks for any and all info!

Re: 1967 Johnson Parts Swap

So you want to put your manual shift lower unit on the 80hp? Won't work. No shift linkage. You have a better chance of putting the 80hp powerhead on your motor. But you would have to swap the whole complete assembly, electrical, carburetor, and everything. And then your control probably won't be compatable.

In other words, forget it.

Okay, just a thought, I was afraid that would be too easy!
Thanks for the reply!
