spaghetti seals are the rubber rope type seal like "o" rings. I just went through water in the lower unit of my 1960 60 hp sea king. I bought a kit that had all of the seals and rings in it. it cost me about $22. I figured that I was replacing seals already might as well replace them all. hope this is some help.

If your engine has exhaust through the prop it could just be unburned fuel. I have seen that happen with Rudes and Johnsons that have exhaust through prop. If so, you're getting more gas than you're burnin.

Hi jbutter<br />The first thing to do is obtain a manual. Then replace all the seals. It is counter productive to replace just one.
