1967 9.8hp mercury flywheel

Hello all

I’m working on a 1967 9.8hp mercury and I took the flywheel off and lost the nut. No idea where it went. Can anyone tell me what the thread size is so I can go to hardware store to get another one?

I believe it is the Mercury 11-20696 locking nut. Take a quick measurement of the crankshaft diameter at the flywheel threads may give you an indication of the thread size. It is a special locking nut, so the hardware store may not have one.
