1966 larson alpine..what hp kicker for this boat

hi i have a 1966 larson alpine was wonder what size kicker would be good for it.i fish in the san francisco bay and sacramento river

probably depends on how much time you have and how far you need to go. Going upriver in the sacramento this time of year could take quite a bit of push. I have also seen tidal movement in the bay looking like "white water". Just a wild guess of 10 to 15hp from me. hopefully you will never need it.

Jesballs<br />I agree with andrew. At least a 8 HP high thrust like Yamaha 4 stroke. That would work fine for trolling. If your out at Cordell banks and loose main engine would take a long time. If at the Golden Gate and launched at the napa river with a ebb tide you need more unless want to wait for a tide change. Tides at the Gate can run5 miles per hour. I would select a 15 HP. That what I have on my 21 foot aluminum Boat. Trolls as slow as I want to go and does about 6 miles per hour at 2/3 throttle
