I just got my hands on this 17' Glasspar from 1966 and this super seahorse 60 electric 1965(i think) and I'm debating weather I should try to restore them or just trash the boat and part out the motor..

the boat needs the transom replaced and the motor well all I know about the motor is that the compressions are ok.

would it be worth doing this job? or would I be better off getting something else?
are these motors reliable? how are they on gas?
I'm looking for a near shore fishing boat so I thought I could get this guys working..

replacing the transom shouldn't be too hard, I just don't know about how much it'll cost me..

and about the motor i don't know how much it will be ether.. im very handy and can do the work i think...

what do you guys think? any thoughts would be appreciated

thanks

Check out fiberglassics.com. All kinds of info on the old fiberglass boats over there. Post some pics of what you got and some of these guys here can point you in the right direction. Welcome to iboats.
