Re: tashassdaddy

when you get into a boat that old, you are in a different type of boating than general recreational. Think of it like buying a 1964 Nova instead of a 2002 Taurus. You will have a lot of work to do, parts hard to find, and require specialized knowledge about things that are done differently today. Generally not a good idea for a first boat.

You've never been able to answer our questions about what motor is in this boat. It is possible that it is powered by something COMPLETELY OBSOLETE that you won't be able to find parts for. So we cannot recommend for or against it at this time. I hope you aren't paying much for it.

Re: 1965 OMC johnson boat need info

Had a buddy that had one of those years ago in the I/O version. Don't remember a lot about it except it seemed like a pretty solid boat and appeared to be heavy. The factory trailer that came with this boat was built to move houses. I pulled it once with my '65 Caddy and it seemed to tow a lot harder than the 17' Crownline I had at the time. A lot of that could have been the fact that the trailer probably weighed 3 times what mine did.
