I have a 1965 Mercury/Kiekhaefer - 6hp that I'm tuning up and so far I have replaced the impeller and changed the lower unit oil.
I want to change the ignition points, is there anything to look out for when doing this task? What would be the proper gap for the points and the spark plug?
I'll also check the compression. Should I consider rebuilding the carb as well?
