I have a 1965 merc 110 that was bestowed on me and after a little clean up new fuel tank line bulb, fuel pump, plugs I got it to fire but not before I checked the points and made sure they were gapped at .015. The fuel line had water in it from about 1966 and it had made its way to the fuel pump then into the carb bowl and the needle and seat were stuck so I tore it apart and used about 1 can of carb cleaner and got everything cleared and open again (jets metering rod ect...) I put it back together and fuel seeps out under the filter gasket but not bad enough to be a problem I think? but Im not concerened about that so much as I am it not starting. I will close the choak and spin it and it will hit a couple of times then I open the choak a little bit and it it will try to start then sometimes it will backfire then thats it we have to start the process over again. I had to search for 20min to find the fuel pump. parts for this thing are hard to find. I have a question about the idle adjustment screw I turned it in all the way then backed it off about 1.5 turns. and what you might try, any help would be great thank you
