1965 5hp Johnson

Good news! I hooked up the gas tank, gave it a few pulls and she started up. Runs real smooth, considering it had not been started in over 5 years. One more question.<br /><br />Does it require a vented tank? I want to hook it up to my 50hp Johnson tank (gas/oil mixture is the same), the 50 hp does not have a vented tank.<br /><br />Thanks for all of the help.

Any OMC tank should work. The one for your 50 is vented, but it also retains some pressure or vacuum to help reduce atmospheric water from collecting. If necessary you can get a vented cap for it.
