I am restoring a 1964 MFG runabout and need to replace the windshield because it is damaged. I want to remove the old plexiglass from the metal frame that goes around the top. It appears that the inside of the frame has teeth pointing inward to grab and hold the plexiglass. I'm not sure if there is glue inside the frame also holding the plexiglass. I started to pry it apart with a couple screw drivers but became nervous that I would destroy the aluminum.
Does anyone have any tips on removing the plexiglass without damaging the frame? Thank you for any ideas.
