Hi - I am new to the forum and looking for literature on my all original 1964 Crestliner. I am the 2nd owner and was privileged to know the original owner who kept the boat very clean - as I also try to do. The original seats are still in nice condition. It has a deep hull and riveted design. When I've drilled a couple holes in the floor I was amazed to see what I believe is redwood. My Hull Id. # is 103457991. Any help in finding literature on my boat would be deeply appreciated - Thanks.

Re: 1964 Crestliner 16 Ft. Aluminum runabout

So, when I went to the link that shows a 1964 Crestliner "Crest Rider" which is the closest match, I find some disparity in the following:
My Boat Hull Id. is 103457991 (I assume the 1034 is part of the model) and the model in the brochure is 1030-4 ?
My Boat is rated at a max. 80 OBC certified horsepower and the model in the brochure says 75 hp ?
Does anyone know why the differences exist ?
Thanks - Bill in La Crosse

Today - I took this picture of my Hull ID Nameplate. You can see clearly the reference to 80 hp

Flying Crest 16. Note it says "teak" deck, which is far more likely than redwood; top quality there.

LOL - oh, that's where you got it

I'm not sure why discrepancy, but the charts at the top didn't have '64 listings either. Model numbers are kinda' funny in boats and sometimes don't help figure too much out. A 5HP difference would be minimal on that boat, and most likely the hitch was as much marketing as it was technical.

I think there was a owners site listed at the bottom of the link I sent you. They may have more information.

Thank you very much for finding the correct name of my boat. I am very surprised by teak wood - WOW !!!
FYI - My boat's color scheme is red deck with white hull.
Thanks again - Bill

Yes - Pictures are the best !! Unfortunately, I'm in Wisconsin where it is cold and snowy today and my boat is stored in an old barn. However, when I took the picture of the Hull ID plate I also took this broader picture of the plate which includes the right rear corner of my boat. For you experts there must be some distinguishing features in this picture that match up with the design of the boat. Come this summer I will definitely take a quality picture of my boat on my trailer and in the water and share it on this forum. Thanks for being patient with an old, cold Vet. 100_1602.jpg
