Well I snapped off the plastic outlet on my stock fuel pump. I am trying to source a replacement fuel pump for a 1964 Evinrude 40hp (40452S) 2 stroke outboard. I have seen several cross references to Sierra parts 18-7351 and 18-7352. Can somebody clarify which of these (if either) to use?

Motor model number is 40452-S. Not sure what the 'S' is for but I've been using 40452 parts manual. OMC fuel pump is 379297 but I cannot see a direct Sierra replacement. Any ideas which Sierra pump would work with this?

There is not a direct Sierra replacement, but an 18-7352 will work with some very minor hose re-routing. The hoses may need replacing anyway if they are 10+ years old. The 18-7352 is the replacement for a 1968 40 HP and mounts the same, but has a filter screen in the intake cap.
You will lose the need for glass bowl filter, but you can keep it on there for old-times sake.
