1964 18hp evinrude fuel filter

I know thismay sound stupid but does a 1964 18hp evinrude have a fuel filter and should it be changed if it has not been run in about a year

There's just a little screen behind the cover held on by a thumbscrew on the fuel pump. You can pop it off and clean it manually.<br />I think it's a good idea to install a proper fuel filter somewhere in the fuel line. Even one of those cheap plastic line filters is better than nothing.

There's a filter in the gas tank pick-up, plus the fuel pump. How many do you think you need? Use fresh gas, and there should be no problem.
