I want to add oil to lower unit. I see a place with a screw that says oil level. I tried adding oil there, but just runs back out. Is there another place that is for adding the oil to the lower case?

There should be another screw towards the bottom of the lower unit that looks just like the level screw. Remove the lower screw and then the level screw and let the lower unit drain. You have to fill it from the bottom screw till it comes out of the level screw. Make sure to use new seal washers on the drain/level screw.

Make sure to use the correct gear oil for the electric shift.

I use Type C, or as they now call it "special blend". My motor is a 1971Evinrude 100hp. The best way to fill it is to remove the top oil lever screw and the bottom filling screw, using an oil pump, I pump the fluid until it starts to come out of the top level hole. As far as I know, and what Daviet mentioned, you are not to fill it from the top.

Hope that helps.
