I just picked up a '62 Fastwin for $50. Decent condition cosmetically but hasn't run in 10+ years so I have some work to do.
A dumb question, but how do I remove the cowl (cover)? There are 2 screws in the rear that have corroded and I sprayed PB Blaster on them which I think hold the cowl on. Is that the case?

You'll need to remove the powerhead. Then there are 4 rubber shock mounts under the lower cowl, that connect it to the midsection.

Isn't he asking how to remove the fiberglass cover? Look under the rear of the lower cowl and you will see the hood latch. Pull it down with your finger and the hood will lift up, forward, and off.

Yes, I asked about removing the cowl not the powerhead. Thanks for the info.
