1962 Evinrude fastwin Charging System?

Hi all,
I have a1962 Evinrude fastwin 18hp and im looking for a way to have this motor have a 12volt charging system, I have been searching threw the internet and really havent found a thing so maybe you folks know what I need to getter done..

You can't do it.
Well, it's theoretically possible, but not easy or practical.
The 18hp did not have a factory charging system made for it.
The ones offered for the 40hp were belt driven DC generators, which would not fit unless a bracket and flywheel were somehow fabricated.
A fully charged deep-cycle battery would run the starter and navigation lights for probably 2 straight weeks of fishing every day.

I suppose you could convert it to the beloved (yeah, right) Lo-Tension Magneto. Not cheap. Besides, you wouldn't like it.

Thanks guys for your help, I kind of thought so that it wouldnt pay to do so, its a shame to I just rebuilt the whole motor, Rings ,Reed valve water pump, new coils and points, and carb, it runs real sweat to, just wish it had a charging system..

Get a solar charger for your battery if you really need one.
