1962 Evinrude 18hp Fastwin - Points or Electronic ignition?

Simple question - Does this motor have point+condensor or electronic ignition? I know that I should know that already, but I'm going to try to get mine running again when I get off work in a minute and this question came to mind.

As always... Thank you in advance. You all are an asset and deserve to be paid for the helpful advice and info you provide on this forum.

I had the same motor except the '70 version. Points.........

that was the first year they put in Electronic fuel injection....Just kidding!

points for sure!!!!!!!!!! .020 gap on that make sure they are clean
should have one condenser....

OMC Universal Magneto. Two coils, two points sets, two condensers, for all practical purposes two ingitions sharing one flywheel. Ol' reliable.

Electronic ignitions were not offered in these until the '70's. On the 25's they came out with a magnaflash ignition, which was basically a modified version of the old style ignition. That, I believe was only made from "73 - '76 on those engines. The last year of the 18 and 20 (1973) also had it. The 15's were introduced with electronic ignitions in 1974. The 25's continued, but were soon redesigned (1977)and did come with electronic ignition. Myself, I think your old motor was the better one though.
