I'm new to this forum and I've been having difficulty trying to look up information on an old boat we own. We believe that it is a ~1961 Owens, 21 ft, with a plywood hull, and we think it is called a "day cruiser." I can't find any information on Owens boats, or pictures, or anything to help me find out more about this boat, and if it is worth restoring and its value. Thank you!

Perhaps I can include pictures in the future.

Owens were a very popular boat on the St Johns River, Jacksonville, FL. gave Chris Craft a run for the money. i still see a few in the marinas here. great lines.

There were Owens boats all over the U.S. for many years and then they went out of business when fiberglass started to get popular.

The boat probably isn't worth very much money, as most wooden boats aren't unless it's a special model. If you go by most Marinas you usually can find some wooden boats just deteriorating on their lots.

Your boat is gorgeous. But that strap you have on the front isn't worth a damn. Put a heavy chain on it, that will actually keep it from being propelled off the trailer if you have an accident, or the winch fails.

Owens is one of my favorite wooden boats from the 50's! Good luck with that great old boat. The link below may have some specifications and pictures that match your model.
