1961 john to 56 john elect start

i bought a 1956 elect start johnson that due to a previous owner is missing the elect start system.was looking a a 1961 john the other day that had the elect start and also the generator.will the 61 starting system work on the 56 30 hp? the 1961 johnson is a 40 hp.

i seriously doubt it. there was a big change in 59-60, before that a lot of parts were interchangable. the system would probably work, but the brackets are the problems.
