I think it is a 68-69, been stored for about 5 yrs had a guy look at it said junk it. Really wanted to get it running and back on the boat. No spark, needs seals, impeller dried out, and well just about everything else I guess, oh has good compression.
Do you think a rebuild would be worth it? I think the guy just didn't want to work on such an old engine. I found a manual on repairing can a regular guy do this? I hate to just junk it and if I did that do I just take it to the scrap yard?

Look at FAQ and look at the article "awaking a sleeping outboard" and then ask some more specific questions. Cause we cant just help you fix your whole motor at once our fingers would get sore 8)

If you want to scrap it, put it on a pallet and ship it to me. Have you checked the price of a new one? Of course it's worth repairing if it's complete and in general good condition other than some maintenance.

A model number will help id the exact year.

You may want to head over to the Antique Outboard Motor Club's Ask-A-Member forum at www.aomci.org
