1960 johnson 75hp V4S-12 starter

I'm looking for a starter for a 1960 johnson 75hp V4S-12 and am not having much luck. Are there newer aftermarket starters that would work? I saw one for a mercury that looked very similar. Thanks for reading.

Arco, maybe. Unless somebody ripped yours off, might describe the issues with yours. Maybe some folks here can give you suggestions for repair.

I'm in northern California. The model number of the starter is autolite mdw-4103m. I called Arco and they couldn't find anything. I don't know much about rebuilding starters hopefully that's not my only option.

A starter shop (if they exist anymore) might rebuild it for you.
