1960-61 Merc 150 15hp outboard lower unit problems.

I have an older merc 150 on my 14ft starcraft which was having water pump problems. I decided to pull the lower and take a look see at the impeller. Pulled the lower and the gears and springs fell out of the upper case. Im sure that I will eventually figure them out but am at a loss on where the water pump is located. There has to be someone out there who knows. Thanks in advance.<br /><br />~John

The water pump is driven by the driveshaft. Follow the driveshaft down to where it disappears and you've found the waterpump housing. Remove the screws to the housing for access to the impeller. You really need a manual, which you can get right here at iboats. Good luck.<br />Backlash
