I have recently become the proud owner of a 1959 johnson 14' fiberglass boat that has come equiped with a 1960 35 hp Sea king.
I have cleaned all of the fuel lines/tanks hoses etc.
I have yet to goof around with the ignition system with the exception of installing new Spark plugs.
With New gas and new plugs I was able to get the engine to run for about a minute.
After the engine quit running I noticed that the bucket of water (very large garbage type pail) was low on H2O.
I then noticed that the engine was extemely hot.
I don't want to go any farther along with the "getting it started" process with out first checking with some folks with some base knowledge of the engine and it's tendancies.
Any idea why so hot.
New guy so don't laugh at this question, Impeller? where do I look to find this item to check and see if it is in good working order. What do I look for.
Help please and thank you.
