I put in new pistons and rings, and im noticing the flywheel is noticibly harder to pull, its not "hard" its just harder, i dont hear any grinding when i hand turn it without plugs. so im wondering if this is normal, due to higher compression?

How does it feel with plugs out? Should turn easy then. Did you hone the cylinders? Did you achieve a cross-hatch pattern? Did you check the rings end gaps? Did you check piston skirt clearance? Are you positive you got the rod caps on the right rods and oriented correctly? See how hard it is to diagnose it from here?

its easier to turn without plugs, end gaps were good, i honed and got the cross hatch but it mighta not been perfect. skirt clearance was okay . and i know the rods were correct when i put them on,

what im assuming and why i asked is that maybe its got a ton more compression(have yet to test) or something due to the new rings and pistons.

If it turns easy without the plugs, but hard with plugs in, then it would make sense that it is compression. Besides, you seem to know what you were doing as you assembled it.
