I havea 1959 35 hp Johnson Outboard Model rds 21 B and iam wondering where the water comes out from the impeller. I had it in a barrrel today in water that was about 5 inches over the water intake and it was not pumping water. By the way the impeller and housing was replaced a week ago. Thanks for any help

It will exit via the exhaust port. You do not have it deep enough, the pump is not self priming and needs to be completely submerged. Get the water line just beneath the exhaust and hopefully she pumps for you. If not, check that the key is installed, you did not pinch the water line with the grommet atop the impeller housing, there are no obstructions clogging the cooling circuit, and the intake is free of debris.
