I found a 1959 Gale Sea King 35 HP, Montgomery Ward (Johnson Evinrude)
Model # GG8997C Serial # 95X758174 . I pulled the flywheel and changed the coils, points - condensers & wires.
My questions, what spark plugs are recommended?
What is the fuel & oil mix for this motor?
What lower gear oil should be used?
I want to check the compression and I may have to rebuild carburetor but I did not want to move the HS/LS needles without a manual and carb. kit.
Any other advice before starting motor

** I have a repair manual and a new Impeller on the way! Thanks

Go easy on the name, Jim. That is a Sea King, made by Gale. It is not a JohnnyRude, just related.

Plugs are Champion J4C, gapped at .030".

Fuel mix is 24:1

Gearcase oil is regular outboard gearcase oil. . .90W.

Good engine, good luck. :)

Thanks JB! I put in "Evinrude & Johnson" in hopes I would not be moved to another forum and a whole lot of parts are also interchangeable. Thanks again!
