I have a 1959 Evinrude Fastwin 18hp model #15028. It runs great but I am having problems with the pressurized fuel system (mainly the 50 year old tank). I was wondering if anybody new of anyone who sold a conversion kit to go from pressure to pump fuel feed. I am sure I could rob parts off of a later model but I don't have any donor engines laying around. Any suggestions?

Pressurized tanks are pretty plentify and not too spendy, the fuel pump conversion can be done several ways. Search this forum for fuel pump conversion or a similar phrase.

whats wrong with the pressure tank? there r still parts for it u know and cost much less then converting the motor to a fuel pump. a fuel pum will be porbably about 80 dollars. repairing a gas tank fully maybe 20-30 dollars plus taking out rust in it and new fuel lines. i got a pressure system my self on a 1959 einvurde also but its a 10hp and work perfectly

I concur. You can rebuild the tanks pretty easily with the kit. Unless it's really rusty. Do you have to keep pumping it to keep it running? What is the issue with the tank?

Update, zeb lives about a hundred miles from me and brought his motor down this morning. I helped him out with a fuel pump installation and about an hour later he was out of here with a fuel pump on his 18.

Looks good. Too bad the 59 and 60 18hp are so ugly! I just sold one.

Update: Thanks to F.R. I now have a fuel pump installed. I took it out for a test run, and two gallons of fuel later I declared it to be a complete success! Thanks for the help, support and advice.
