I’ve seen it on here before somewhere, but can’t seem to find it with a search. Does anyone know the part number for he new rubber style carb float for this engine? Really don’t want another cork one.

Thanks

There is no direct-fit Nitrophyl float for that motor. However, a new cork one is coated with a different stuff than the old orange shellac that was on the original and should withstand the Ethanol. Should last another 20 or 30 years. Longer than I'll last anyway. Now, if you insist and want to go to a lot of work, some guys have modified a 382363 Nitrophyl float to fit. Doesn't seem worth it to me, but go ahead if you want a project.

Do you know the procedure to modify 382363 float ??

I do not, but it involves moving the hinge from one to the other and possibly some trimming. I've seen the procedure described on some forum, possibly here or possibly aomci. I wasn't interested enough to record it.

On one of the airplane restoration sites they talked about coating the old cork floats with either butyrate dope (good luck ever finding that anymore) or fuel tank liner. If it's good enough for aircraft, it should be good enough for an outboard. I'm going to coat mine with POR-15
