1958 SunRunner and 225 Volvo Penta I/O Question

Hi Board,

I have an offer in on a 1985 Sunrunner Cabin Cruiser (SRM 230 Express). Some questions came up AFTER I saw the boat. Does anyone know if this specific year/model and engine has power trim and power steering? The mechanic at my marina seemed very concerned specifically about these two points as deal breakers.

The boat is not in easy driving distance from where I am and there are no photos of the outboard. Was hoping someone might know off-hand.

I apologize if these questions seem novice (but I am an novice! lol).

your title says 1958, now thats an old boat.

this is of little help to your question specifically but i have a 1986 sunrunner 220cv with a 5.0L merc and alpha 1 gen 1 drive and it does have power trim and power steering.

You may very well not have power trim on that outdrive, You didn't say what model it was.

Power steering is not a deal breaker. if the boat needed it in 1985 Sunrunner would have put it in. Those were good boats.

If the boat appears to be neglected than pass on it.

Those are questions you have to ask the seller. We can't see the boat or know what is installed. The 225D could be manual steering or power steering and it could have power trim or not.
