Just bought a 10 HP, 1958 Johnson Seahorse. Can anyone tell me if this motor has a thermostat and if so where is it located? Also, what sparkplugs should I be using. And one last question, when I test it in a barrel where should I see cooling water exiting from? I appreciate any info you can give me. Thanks

Hi,
Your motor doesn't have a t-stat. Use Champion J-6C plugs. Cooling water mostly goes out the exhaust, but there is an exhaust relief hole about half-way up the rear of the motor leg, about the size of your thumb. It should spit a good spray of warm water out.
- Scott
