Was wondering what one in good shape would fetch. New coil and rebuilt water pump. Has stand and tank. Paint is good and runs like a champ. I have no idea what its worth. Any Ideas on where I should start?
Thanks,
Spike

Welcome! I'm sure our friend and Johnson "Wizard" JB will be along shortly to help you out.....helps if you tell him the horsepower though.
Ps. I just parted out an 18hp that was beyond fixing, but most are still running today, and great motors.

Spike what HP are you asking about? That old I would say $20 a HP would be fair. Some may say more some may say less. Are you restoring an old classic boat and are looking for an engine of the same area? I have 1957 18 hp it still runs fine. I use it on my duck boat so it gets abused.

Howdy, CaptSpike.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Need to know more than just "Sea Horse". A good 5.5hp that passes inspection and water test should be worth around $200 right now, $300-$400 in May.

Let us know. :)

From my experience at selling motors. Somewhere in the $300 range.
