1958 Johnson 35hp super seahorse

I have a RDS-20 1958 Johnson 35hp super seahorse I am trying to revitalize. It is electric start but It also has a recoil starter. How do you stop this engine if you are using the manual recoil starter and not the key start option?

If the harness is hooked up you still have to turn the the key on to manually start it, turn the key off to turn it off.

The link below should get you to the correct wiring diagram for your motor. Two black wires coming from magneto points will ground out the ignition. Good luck with that great old motor!

If you have no wiring harness on it to short out the two black wires then you either choke it or throttle down till it stalls out.
