All the required screws are out, but the skeg will not let go. I tried lightly tapping it, hitting it with a rubber mallet, nothing seems to work. This is the first time it's been removed. Ever. Any tricks?

It's just stuck on with sealant. Keep tapping it. It'll come off. There's nothing else holding it on. You also have to take the phillips head shifter screw out. Why are you taking it off?

Replacing the seals. It's sucking water like crazy.

Do you have the lower unit off the motor?

I finally got it off. It was really stuck on there, a good whack with a rubber hammer did the job!
