1958 fd-12 18hp lower unit?

can any one help find a updated part number on an plug gasket for the lower unit,pulled the top plug out and there was no gasket on there looked at marinengines and it shows that there is the same gasket for the top has the bottom

Those plug washers are fairly universal in size. If you have a dealer near you, they would have them. Personally, I buy them by the bag full.

Sure it's not there? I've seen the older ones stick to the case. The newer ones are plastic and usually stay with the plug.

i looked with a light and there was nothing there,would a local hardware store plastic gasket work?

You might be able to match one but I would buy the correct ones from a dealer for peace of mind.
