1957 Johnson Javilin 35

I am in the process of refreshing the ingnition system on this 35,my question is what is the factory specs on the cut-out leads? What size wire should I replace with?..would standard automotive wire be a choice of replacment? I appreciate any advice on this.

They are just 16 gauge leads. If you need help with wiring them let me know and Ill post a diagram.
