Hi all, recently I posted about this motor and an obvious hairline crack in the reed plate. After pulling the intake I discovered that it was at the top of the crankcase bleeder valve assembly area of the reed plate.During this process it became aware to me that a PO had more than likely tried to reuse the reed to block gasket and over torqed causeing this fracture. All new gaskets and a vintage reed plate along with proper reassembly has resulted in a fantastic running motor! We ran it saturday afternoon after crappie fishing that morning.
