1957 Elgin 30hp motor

I have a 1957 30hp motor. The spring for the recoil strater seems to be weak. I tried to wind the spring up more but still dosent have enough tension to recoil the the starter rope. It has the worm gear style recoil. Is the spring still available? Any info would be great. Thanks

I don't know how hard they would be to find, but think West Bend or Chrysler. That is who built the motor.
