1956 Evinrude 15HP

When the motor has been not been running for several days, when it starts for several minutes it run poorly. Typically it back fires through the exhaust, and my or may not continue to run. After the several minutes it runs great. Any ideas would be great.

Backfiring indicatess a lean condition.<br /><br />1. Check all fuel lines and hoses under the hood.<br /><br />2. Adjust your low speed jet. Start by seating it (turning all the way in gently). Then, turn it out 1 1/2 turns, as a starting point.
