why would you want to put a whale tail on a 7.5, to try to get it to plane? does this one have a remote tank or built in gas tank. i have a '55 15hp rude on a 14' alum.

That way I could get up on plane at a slower speed.

Yep on the weight...set up my overweight neighbor with a 4HP on a 12 Alum row...2 bricks and the anchor has her faster than bow up and light.....

my 7.5 planes the boat just fine. but heres an example. my dad had an old pro-line that was 17 ft and had a 90 hp johnson it without a whale tale it would plane at 17 mph with a whale tale it would plane at 12 mph see my point i want to plane at a slower speed.

try it and let us know. but i think it is going to drag there's a big diffference in hp and the boats. i think you are going to have to modify one.

Adding that much drag to a 7.5 will really kill your speed. You might plane at a lower speed, but your top end would drop off significantly. Plus, the cav plate on the 7.5 is quite thin - would probably break easily with the added stress.
