I saw on an old post on this sight that a guy can replace the no longer produced carb float for a 5.0 HP Two Cyl. Model TN Seahorse... I understand you can take a merc. carb float that requires only to enlarge the mounting hole for it to work on this motor... Does anyone have a part number for that Merc. float? or any suggestions of what Merc motor has that simular float? The motor starts and runs for 30 seconds until the bad float does not turn off the gas thus the motor floods out and leaks gas out of the top vent on the fuel (bowl? Cylinder?)...

If anyone has any information, I'm in Minnesota, and we have a VERY short boating season.... HELP!!!

Float # 18-7208, here at iboats, plus a bit if creativity is all it takes. Remove the spring from the end and drill the center hole all the way through with a 3/32" drill.

A lot of people would re-shelac the floats on those older motors, but retrofitting a newer plastic float, would be ideal.
