Hello can someone help me I just bought a It appears but I’m not for sure 1946-1948 Evinrude zephyr model 4404 5.4hp outboard motor I need a service manual I cant find one or even a blow up diagram of the engine so I can get do a rebuild please someone help me

Hello it’s me again I have another about the Evinrude zephyr 4404 I noticed the manual string pully it has 3 bolt holes is that so I can get a pull cord spring loaded starter or is this just a old school manual wrap only motor

Motor came from the factory with a recoil starter.

So does that mean i cant upgrade and put a spring pull rope like in the diagram or is this the only option?

You can run it without the recoil starter. OR, check in with aomci. Somebody may have a recoil starter for it.
