Cool, an HD-15. That would make it a 1940 model. I do think that $300 is a bit high though. I see them for a lot less, but the HD-15 is less common than the HD-20 and HD-25's.

The HD-15 is the first year the HD model that was completely shrouded. It is a one year style as far as your shrouding goes. In 1939, they were called the HD-39 and were more bare bones in appearance. The HD-20 (1941 - 42) and HD-25 (1946 -49) was a slightly different design and was the same for those years, (except for colors)

It would make a cool restoration project. I own a 1941 HD-20 myself. I just got done rebuilding the engine on mine and managed to find new pistons, rings, rods and crank for it. Try Sea-Way marine for parts.

No. It is listed in my book as 1940 2.5HP.
