Hi this is my first post here. I'm trying to find some info on a Seadrive that is installed on my son's first boat. He didn't pay much for it but of course it needs some tlc. It runs and tilts so thats good but we need a bit of help. For one I don't know the year or hp rating on this model. He was told its the 150hp version.

It runs a bit rough at idle and it has a hard time planing. Once you trim it all the way down and after a bit the revs come up a bit then its like a switch turns on and it flys. My best guess is bad gas with too much oil in it as the boat has changed hands a couple times and hasn't seen much water the last couple years. Once we got it on plane we ran it down to about 1/4 tank of fuel (I was a bit afraid to get it any lower as we dont know the boat yet) Now I figure we'll mix up some new gas and fill the tank and see how that goes. If that doesn't help I think the next step may be low speed jets clogged? Any help / advice would be great. He also has the motor sits too low in the rear problem but from what I have read there isn't much that can be done about that.
